A CORNER IN THE WORLD
ABOUT
A Corner in the World is an independent collective for curatorial practice focusing on performing arts and related fields in Turkey. With a strong belief in the exchange and interaction of disciplines, backgrounds and cultures, we aim to facilitate creations in various forms, give visibility to new voices and contribute to the cultural and artistic landscape of cities and communities. Our work takes place in various spaces, takes in various actors and new interdisciplinary practices in performing arts. We also aim to decentralize artistic production and point to opportunities beyond conventional spaces and audiences. Our international work focuses on exchange, mobility and collaborations between Turkey and its surrounding regions, with which we have little opportunities to come together despite our geographical proximity.
WHAT WE DO?
✓Experiences:
We design and promote events that are in the intersection of performing arts & related fields: festivals, curations of events and venues, workshops, trainings and special gatherings in collaboration with other organisations. Our works prioritises diversity, inclusion and giving space to less-heard voices.
✓ Creations:
We encourage new creations through our productions or co-productions and support independent artists during the process of creation, from the beginning to the end.
✓ Touring Management & Consultancy:
We support and promote international circulation of artists from Turkey and represent them in the international arena.
